Exclusive! Idina Menzel Performs at Encores! Off-Center Lobby Project Series

Plus, a look at the curtain call of I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road.

Tony Award winner Idina Menzel took part in New York City Center Encores! Off-Center’s new Lobby Project before the July 25 performance of I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the Road. Menzel, best known for her performances on Broadway in Rent and Wicked, was on hand to discuss “A BroaderWay Foundation,” the organization she created with her husband, Taye Diggs, in 2010. The group offers young women from underserved communities an outlet for self expression through programs in the arts. During the talk, which was moderated by Encores! Off-Center Artistic Director Jeanine Tesori, Menzel performed the classic John Lennon tune “Imagine,” accompanied on piano by Tesori, for the assembled audience in City Center’s mezzanine lobby.
