The first preview of the Shakespeare in the Park production of Into the Woods at the Delacorte Theater, originally scheduled for Monday, July 23, will now take place on Tuesday, July 24 due to weather related delays.

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s beloved musical combines the classic stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Cinderella, with an original fairy tale about a childless baker and his wife, to explore the meaning of “happily ever after.”

The company includes Amy Adams (The Baker’s Wife), Jack Broderick (Narrator), Glenn Close (Voice of the Giant), Gideon Glick (Jack), Cooper Grodin (Rapunzel’s Prince), Ellen Harvey (Cinderella’s Stepmother), Ivan Hernandez (Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf), Tina Johnson (Granny), Josh Lamon (Steward), Bethany Moore (Stepsister), Jessie Mueller (Cinderella), Donna Murphy (The Witch), Denis O’Hare (The Baker), Jennifer Rias (Stepsister), Laura Shoop (Cinderella’s Mother), Sarah Stiles (Little Red Ridinghood), Tess Soltau (Rapunzel), Kristine Zbornik (Jack’s Mother), and Chip Zien (Mysterious Man), as well as Victoria Cook, Johnny Newcomb, Noah Radcliffe, and Eric R. Williams.

The production — directed by Timothy Sheader with co-direction by Liam Steel — will run through August 25. It features scenic design by John Lee Beatty and Soutra Gilmour; costume design by Emily Rebholz; movement direction by Liam Steel; sound design by Acme Sound Partners, orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick; and musical direction by Paul Gemignani.

Tickets to Shakespeare in the Park are FREE and are distributed, two per person, at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park the day of the show. The Public Theater will again offer free tickets through its Virtual Ticketing lottery at www.shakespeareinthepark.org on the day of the show.
