Kevin Del Aguila, Celia Keenan-Bolger, and Matthew Saldivar from the Broadway cast of Peter and the Starcatcher, read a segment of Judy Schachner's popular children's book SkippyJon Jones to the audience prior to the Monday, July 30 performance of the new musical adaptation of SkippyJon Jones at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
Del Aguila, who plays Smee in Starcatcher, wrote the book and lyrics for the Skippyjon adaptation. The show features music by Eli Bolin, direction by Peter Flynn, choreography by Devanand Janki, and is Theatreworks USA's featured production of its 24th Annual Free Summer Theatre Program.
The musical is about a Siamese cat whose wild imagination transforms him into El Skippito Friskito, the greatest sword fighter in Mexico.
