Kritzerland to Release Remastered Follies Original Cast Recording

Kritzerland will issue a limited edition release of the 1971 original Broadway cast recording of Follies, remastered from the original eight-track session masters.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Goldman, the show centers on two couples as attending a reunion of the fictional Weismann Follies girls. Among the numbers in the show are “Losing My Mind,” “Broadway Baby,” “Beautiful Girls,” “Waiting for the Girls Upstairs,” and “I’m Still Here.”

Directed by Harold Prince and Michael Bennett, the original cast featured Alexis Smith, Dorothy Collins, Gene Nelson, and John
McMartin in the central roles, along with Yvonne De Carlo, Ethel Barrymore Colt, Fifi D’Orsay, Dick Latessa, Victoria Mallory, Mary McCarty, and Ethel Shutta, among others.
