The York Theatre Company has announced that Broadway veterans Jacquelyn Piro Donovan and Julia Murney will join the cast of Closer Than Ever beginning August 3 and 6 respectively. Richard Maltby, Jr. directs, with musical direction by Andrew Gerle and choreography by Kurt Stamm.

With lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and music by David Shire, Closer Than Ever is a musical about holding onto love, friendship, security, and happiness in a world that pulls us in a hundred directions at once.

Donovan and Murney replace Christiane Noll and Jenn Colella, respectively. (Both are departing the show to join the company of the new Broadway musical Chaplin.) The cast also features George Dvorsky and Sal Viviano.

The design team includes James Morgan (set design), Nicole Wee (costume design), and Kirk Bookman (lighting design).
