Films with Frank Langella, Laura Linney, Al Pacino, Maggie Smith Set for Toronto International Film Festival

Selections for the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival have been announced. The festival runs September 6-16.

Among the films that will be seen are Richard Nelson’s Hyde Park on Hudson, starring Bill Murray as Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Olivia Williams as Eleanor Roosevelt, and Laura Linney as FDR’s cousin Daisy, directed by Roger Michell; Iceman starring Michael Shannon as mob hit-man Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski; Christopher Walken, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Catherine Keener in Yaron Zilberman’s A Late Quartet; Walken, Al Pacino, and Alan Arkin in Fisher Stevens’ crime comedy Stand Up Guys; and Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay, Billy Connolly, and Pauline Collins in Quartet, a film by Dustin Hoffman by Ronald Harwood, based on Harwood’s play.

Additional selections include Wes Bentley and Frank Langella in Nenad Cicin-Sain’s The Time Being, a drama about a young artist who accepts a series of bizarre commissions from a dying millionaire; Writers, a drama about a novelist whose obsession with his ex-wife sends his family into a tailspin, starring Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Lily Collins, Kristen Bell, and Logan Lerman; Matt Winston and Stuart Blumberg’s Thanks for Sharing, starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo, and Tim Robbins; and Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles, and Jennifer Lawrence in David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook.
