Daniel Breaker, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Dee Roscioli, Will Swenson Set for Murder Ballad Workshop

Vassar & New York Stage and Film will present a workshop of the indie rock musical Murder Ballad as part of the 28th Powerhouse Theater season. Concert readings of the musical will take place July 27-29 in the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film. Trip Cullman will direct, with musical direction by Justin Levine.

Written by Julia Jordan and Juliana Nash, Murder Ballad centers on Sara, an Upper West Side mom who seems to have it all, but whose downtown past lingers enticingly and dangerously in front of her.

The cast will feature Broadway’s Daniel Breaker, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Dee Roscioli, and Will Swenson.

Live music will be performed by Thomas Juliano (lead guitar), Josh Myers (bass), and Seth Faulk (drums).

Sound design will be by Leon Rothenberg, and choreography is by Doug Varone.
