Atlantic Theater Company has announced its plans for the 2011-2012 season.

In addition to the previously announced, Bluebird (August 9-September 9), starring Simon Russell Beale, the company plans to produce the world premiere of Adam Rapp’s Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling (September 9-October 23), which takes a surrealist look at wealthy American families, directed by Neil Pepe.

The theater’s schedule will also include a triptych of one-acts by Ethan Coen, Happy Hour (November 16-January 1), which Pepe will also direct; Gabe McKinley’s CQ/CX (January 25-March 11), a play that is based on the Jayson Blair plagiarism scandal at The New York Times; and Fernanda Coppel’s portrait of a woman who leaves her family after turning 40, Chimichangas and Zoloft (spring 2012), directed by Jaime Castañeda.

The season will conclude with John Patrick Shanley’s Sleeping Demon (spring 2012), the final play in his Church and State trilogy, which also includes Doubt and Defiance. In Sleeping Demon, a Bronx borough president finds himself in a confrontation with a local minister because of the mortgage crisis.

Casting and creative teams will be announced in the near future.
