Works by David Bar Katz, Brett C. Leonard, Daphne Rubin-Vega Part of LAByrinth’s 2011-2012 Season, to Be Offered at Bank Street Theater

The LAByrinth Theater Company has announced its plans for the 2011-2012 season, which will be offered at The Bank Street Theater, a Greenwich Village venue formerly known as The Cherry Pit.

The LAByrinth will begin its year with David Bar Katz’ The Atmosphere of Memory, which centers on a playwright who has written a play about his family life and who finds that his actual mother has been cast to play his mother and that his estranged father remember events differently than they are depicted in the script.

The season will also include writer/performer Daphne Rubin-Vega’s Frequently UnAnswered Questions, about a family separated by both a geographic and an emotional gulf; and Brett C. Leonard’s Ninth and Joanie, which, set in the mid-80s, centers on three generations of Philadelphians who have gathered to mourn the death of a family member.

In addition to the full productions, the company continue to offer free play readings throughout the season as part of its Barn Series, and will offer a workshop presentation of a new play by Stephen Adly Guirgis for theater members.
