Terence Blanchard to Play Birdland in August

Grammy Award-winning jazz trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard will perform with the Terence Blanchard Quintet at Birdland, August 2-6.

Blanchard composed original music for the Broadway play The Motherf**ker With the Hat and is scheduled to compose the score for the upcoming Broadway revival of A Streetcar Named Desire.

He is well known for his film scores, which include Do the Right Thing, Mo’ Better Blues, Jungle Fever< and Inside Man.
