Simon Russell Beale, Michael Countryman, Charlotte Parry, et al. Set for Atlantic Theater Company’s Bluebird

Atlantic Theater Company has announced complete casting and the creative team for Simon Stephens’ Bluebird, to run at Atlantic Stage 2, August 9 – September 9, with an opening on August 22. Gaye Taylor Upchurch will direct the production.

The play centers on a London taxi driver named Jimmy MacNeill, who seems to draw personal stories and confessions from his passengers without even trying. Over the course of the play, the truth of Jimmy’s own life and secret burdens unfurls with each new “fare.”

The company will feature Simon Russell Beale, Mary McCann, Kate Blumberg, Tobias Segal, Todd Weeks, Michael Countryman, Charlotte Parry, and John Sharian.

The creative team will include Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Sarah Holden (costume design), Ben Stanton (lighting design), and Darron West (sound design).
