Prospect Theatre Company Announces Casting for Summer Musical Lab Performances

Prospect Theater Company has announced casting for the two pieces that it will present in repertory as part of its Summer Musical Lab, to run July 27-31 in the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row. Dev Bondarin and Cara Reichel have curated the series.

Jason Collins, Sarah Corey, Piper Goodeve, Christine Toy Johnson, Whitney Kam Lee, Mark Mozingo, José Restrepo, and Darcy Yellin will appear in Souvenir Stories, eight short musicals that explore how simple objects can capture people’s memories and hold meaningful experiences. Bondarin will direct the show, which will have music direction by Daniel Feyer.

The pieces have been written by Melanie Bean & Betsy Hulick, Jonathan Breit & Greg Edwards, Phillip Chernyak & Blake Hackler, David Finkle & Ned Paul Ginsburg, John Herin & Frederick Alden Terry, Eric March, Susan Murray & Clay Zambo, and Jay Alan Zimmerman.

The second offering in the Prospect’s Musical Lab will be Alter Ego: A New Teen Musical Revue, which explores how people forge their identities. Series curators Bondarin and Reichel, along with Rachel Dart and Simone Zamore, will direct the production, which will have music direction by Brandon Sturiale.

The show will be performed by members of the theater’s Music Theater Summer Intensive program, including Vivian Belosky, Miranda Cornell, Miranda Fayne, Aegis Duensing, Emrys Duensing, Tristan Gillia, Vassileia Kazee, Maria Kogarova, Christopher Kolwicz, Fiona McSweeney-Glynn, Brandon Ocasio, Alexa Ringer, Isabel Robin, Oona Roche, and Carol Szwei.
