Writer/director Yael Farber and the cast of MoLoRa, celebrated the opening of the show, on Wednesday, July 6. The New York premiere production is being presented by Culture Project's Women Center Stage at the Ailey Citigroup Theater at The Joan Weill Center for Dance, through July 24.

The production comes from South Africa, where the Farber Foundry originally presented it at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg. Set after the fall of apartheid, Farber's adaptation reimagines the ancient Greek Oresteia to tell the story of her own country's painful and extraordinary transition to democracy.

The cast features Dorothy Ann Gould (Klytemnestra), Jabulile Tshabalala (Elektra), and Sandile Matsheni (Orestes), along with members of The Ngqoko Cultural Group.
