NYMF Announces Complete Line-Up

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the complete line-up for its 2011 festival, to run September 26-October 16.

Newly added full productions include The Kid Who Would Be Pope, with book, music, and lyrics by Tom Megan and Jack Megan; Tour De Fierce, created by Hollie Howard and starring The Broadway Dolls; and Tut, featuring concept, music, and lyrics by Marcus Hummon. In addition, the previously reported The Last Word has been renamed Central Avenue Breakdown.

Newly added special events include Jeremy Schonfeld: Long Time, No See; Just Like Magic, with book by Christopher W. Barnes and Cameron Cole, with lyrics by Barnes and music by Ryan Mercy; NYMF Meets NYMF at The Musical Improv Mixer, hosted by The New York Musical Improv Festival; and Rock the Audition in Concert, created and performed by Sheri Sanders.

Newly added developmental readings include Gotta Getta Girl, with book and lyrics by Peter Charles Morris and music by David Caldwell; Matchmaker Matchmaker I’m Willing to Settle, featuring book by Kelvin Moon Loh and Nikki MacCullum, with music and lyrics by Brandon James Gwinn; and The Pigeon Boys, with book and lyrics by Anne Berlin and music by Andrew Bleckner.

Partner events will include Musicals on Television: Twice-Told Tales at the Paley Center for Media, and featuring different musical “takes” on Cinderella and Peter Pan.
