LaLa Brooks, Lesley Gore, Ronnie Spector, et al. Set for She’s Got the Power Concert

Ronnie Spector, Lesley Gore, and LaLa Brooks will be among the performers at She’s Got the Power, a free concert celebrating the “girl group,” to be co-presented by Ponderosa Stomp and Lincoln Center Out of Doors at 8pm on Saturday, July 30 at the Damrosch Park Bandshell.


The concert will also feature Arlene Smith, Barbara Harris, Margaret Ross, Maxine Brown, Brenda Reid, Lillian Walker Moss, Peggy Santiglia Davison, Jiggs Sirico, Beverly Warren, Nanette Licari, Baby Washington,Toni Wine and the Boyfriends, along with musical director Jeremy Chatzky.


In conjunction with the concert, an afternoon symposium, Girl Talk will run noon-4pm at the David Rubenstein Atrium, and will include interviews with Gore, and a special panel devoted to the legacy of the late songwriter Ellie Greenwich, among other events.
