Complete Cast Announced for Druid Theatre Company’s The Silver Tassie

Complete casting has been announced for Druid Theatre Company’s production of Seán O’Casey’s The Silver Tassie, to run July 24-31 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College, as part of the Lincoln Center Festival. Garry Hynes directs.

The play, which unfolds both during and after World War I, centers on two teenage football heroes who are plucked from the tenements of Dublin and thrown onto the battlefields of France.

The company will feature Garrett Lombard (Harry Heegan), Marion O’Dwyer (Mrs. Foran), Eamon Morrissey (Sylvester Heegan/The Corporal), Bush Moukarzel (The Visitor), Liam Carney (Teddy Foran), Clare Dunne (Susie Monican), Charlie Murphy (Jessie Taite), John Olohan (Simon Norton/The Staff-Wallah), Brian Gleeson (Barney Bagnel), Ruth Hegarty (Mrs. Heegan/The Sister of the Ward), Adam Welsh (Soldier), Ger Kelly (Soldier), Elliot Harper (Soldier/Surgeon Forby Maxwell), Chris Doyle (Soldier), along with Lara Connaughton, John Gaughan, and Miriam Ward, who comprise the young chorus.

The creative team includes Francis O’Connor (production design), Davy Cunningham (lighting design), and John Leonard (sound design), along with Elliot Davis who provides original music and serves as musical director.
