Tamara Drewe Film, Starring Gemma Arterton and Dominic Cooper, to Receive October 8 Release

Stephen Frears’ film adaptation of Posy Simmonds’ acclaimed graphic novel Tamara Drewe, about a woman who returns to her small country village and stirs up dark passions among the locals, will be released by Sony Pictures Classics on October 8.

The film, written by playwright Moira Buffini, will feature Gemma Arterton, Dominic Cooper, Roger Allam, Luke Evans, Bill Camp, and Tamsin Greig.

Frears received Oscar nominations for his direction of The Queen and The Grifters. His many other films include Cheri, Dangerous Liaisons, Prick Up Your Ears, High Fidelity, and My Beautiful Laundrette.
