Stephen McKinley Henderson, Lucie Tiberghien, Harris Yulin, et al. to Direct at Julliard in 2010-2011

Julliard’s Drama Division has announced the lineup for its 2010-2011 season featuring students in their fourth and final year of acting training.

The season will open with a production of Lorraine Hansbury’s A Raisin in the Sun (October 20-24), to be directed by Israel Hicks. Also on the schedule are David Auburn’s Proof (November 11-15), directed by Harris Yulin, and Chekhov’s The Seagull (December 9-13), directed by Richard Feldman.

In addition to these productions, the season will include David Mamet’s Boston Marriage, directed by Lucie Tiberghien, Bruce Norris’ Clybourne Park, directed by Stephen McKinley Henderson, and a play by Shakespeare, directed by Rebecca Guy. These three pieces will be presented in rotating repertory February 9-20.

The company will feature Danielle Brooks, Jorge Chacon, Caitlin Harrity, Corey Antonio Hawkins, Mark Junek, Joaquina Kalukango, Thor Kristjansson, Justing Lupe-Schomp, Jo Mei, Aaron Moten, Tyrien Obahnjoko, Ryan O’Byrne, Gayle Rankin, Cameron Scoggins, Auden Thornton, Evan Todd, and Katie Tuminelly.

Julliard has also announced that James Houghton will direct two Shakespeare plays in repertory next spring, performed by its 3rd year actors, on a modern designed version of Shakespeare’s Globe Theater.
