Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman’s film version of Bob Glaudini’s play Jack Goes Boating will be released commercially by Overture Films on September 17, according to the company’s website.

Hoffman, who appeared in the LAByrinth Theatre Company’s production of the play, will appear in the movie alongside original play stars John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega, and two-time Tony Award nominee and Oscar nominee Amy Ryan.

The work focuses on a married couple (Ortiz and Rubin-Vega) who decide to set up two lonely friends (Hoffman and Ryan) with unexpected consequences.
