Stage veterans Hugh Dancy, Kathryn Hahn, Shirley Knight, and Emily Mortimer will join Paul Rudd in the new film My Idiot Brother, a comedy being directed by Jesse Peretz and scripted by Evgenia Peretz and David Schisgall, according to Variety.

In the film, Rudd will play an idealist trying to cope with his overbearing mother, who crashes into the homes of his three ambitious sisters and brings, in succession, truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives while also wreaking havoc.

The film will also feature Zooey Deschanel, Elizabeth Banks, and Janet Montgomery.

Rudd’s New York stage credits include Three Days of Rain, Twelfth Night, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, bash: latter day plays, and The Shape of Things. His upcoming films include the comedy Dinner for Schmucks opposite Steve Carell, and James Brooks’ How Do You Know in which he stars opposite Reese Witherspoon.
