Hinton Battle, Caleb Deschanel, Morgan Karr, Doug Kreeger, Lee Roy Rogers, Sam Underwood, et al. Set for 2010 FringeNYC Shows

Additional cast and creative teams have been announced for various shows in the New York International Fringe Festival, which will play multiple venues in downtown Manhattan, August 13-29.

Justin Blanchard, Paul Downs Colaizzo, Mitch Dean, Morgan Karr, Doug Kreeger, Eric Nelsen, Matt Steiner, Jesse Swenson, Sam Underwood, and Joseph Yeargain will star in Stan Richardson’s Veritas, to be directed by Ryan J Davis. Inspired by true events, the play tells the story of a group of young men at Harvard in 1920 who fell victim to a gay witch-hunt conducted by school administration to purge Harvard of all homosexuality.

Three-time Tony Award winner Hinton Battle will direct and choreograph Terms of Dismemberment, featuring book and lyrics by Dorothy Marcic, with music and musical direction by Frank Sanchez, and other music and lyrics by Mehr Mansuri. Julia Cook, Ashley Campana, Alex Michaels and Jessica Rothenberg star in this new musical about a woman who sells off her daughter’s body parts to relieve her family’s debts.

Five-time Oscar-nominated cinematographer Caleb Deschanel will direct Gary Moore’s autobiographical multi-media one-man play Burning in China. The piece chronicles Moore’s 1988 journey to China just months before Tiananmen Square, and will star Jeff LeBeau.

Two-time Emmy nominee Janice Lynde will star in Happy Birthday, Mom, written and directed by Meghan Gambling. The plot is set in motion when a woman flies home from college to surprise her mother for her 55th birthday, only to find her clad in leather waiting for a young man she met on Craigslist to come over for sex.

Broadway veteran Marina Squerciati will star in the title role of Just in Time–The Judy Holliday Story, written and directed by Bob Sloan. The cast also includes Mary Gutzi, Adam Harrington, and Catherine LeFrere.

Alexandria Wailes, Kyle Knauf, Jacob Hoffman, Lee Roy Rogers, Lawrence Arancio, and Parker Dixon will be featured in Megan Condit’s And a Wake-Up, in which a soldier and his fiancée try to piece their lives back together after he returns from battle under the most mysterious of circumstances. Bruce Faulk will direct.

Revised casting has been announced for th new one-act developmental production of the Will Holt-Bruce Vilanch-Gary William Friedman musical Platinum, which will now feature Donna Bullock, Sarah Litzsinger, Bruce Sabath, Wayne Wilcox, and Jay Wilkison. The previously reported Liz Larsen has withdrawn due to a scheduling conflict.
