HERE Arts Center Announces Programming for 2010-2011 Season

HERE Arts Centerhas announced the lineup of productions that will be seen on its stages during the coming year.

First up will be Border Towns (September 10-18) by Nick Brooke/The Cabinet, a show that fuses musical sampling, lip-synching, live singing and theater. Also on the theater’s schedule is Sleeping Beauty, created by Colette Garrigan and France’s Company Accès L’Air(September 28-October 2); Peter Flaherty and Jenny Mary Tai Liu’s Soul Leaves Her Body (November 5-23); As the Eyes of the Seahorse (December 9-11), which is a collaboration of the Philadelphia band The Mural and The Mint and the Nichole Canuso Dance Company; Yoav Goal’s Mosheh (January 26-February 5); and Kameron Steele and Ivana Catanese’s adaptation of Kobo Abe’s novel Secret Rendevous (April 7-23), created for and performed by The South Wing.

Additionally, Phantom Limb’s The Fortune Teller created and directed by Erik Sanko & Jessica Grindstaff will play a return engagement at the venue (October 28 -December 4). In the piece, seven strangers gather for a reading of a will and find their future is in the hands of a mysterious fortune teller. The production features music by Danny Elfman and Sanko.

HERE will also present its annual CULTUREMART Festival January 10-13; selections will be announced at later date.

The venue will also host a Puppetry Festival in the spring, which will feature Michael Bodel’s adaptation of a Bellini opera, La Sonnambula and Erin Orr and Rima Fand’s Don Cristóbal: Billy Club Man.
