Daniel Beaty will bring his new solo show Through the Night to the Union Square Theatre, beginning performances September 10 in anticipation of an official opening on September 26. Charles Randolph-Wright will direct the production.

In the piece, Beaty plays six interconnected African-American males, as well as the people who love them. Beaty’s other work includes Resurrection and Emergence-SEE! He has previously performed Through the Night at Crossroads Theatre in New Jersey and the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, in addition to the Riverside Theatre in New York earlier this year.

The creative team will include Alexander V. Nichols (scenic, projection, and lighting design) and Lindsay Jones (original music and sound design).

Along with news of the engagement, it has been announced that Bill Cosby, Ruby Dee, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Phylicia Rashad, are among the many celebrities who will be “Artistic Ambassadors” for the show, lending their support to the production through audience development, personal appearances, and more.
