Mamma Mia! to Become 14th Longest Running Show in Broadway History

The hit musical Mamma Mia!, currently performing at the Winter Garden Theatre, will become the 14th longest running Broadway show of all time on Sunday, August 2 when it plays its 3,224th performance, surpassing the record previously held by the play Life with Father.

The musical, which uses the songs of ABBA, follows the story of a forty-something mother planning her daughter’s wedding — unaware that the girl has invited three men who might be her father. It is written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd.

The New York cast currently features Carolee Carmello (Donna Sheridan), Judy McLane (Tanya), Gina Ferrall (Rosie), Brandi Burkhardt (Sophie Sheridan), Chris Peluso (Sky), Sean Allan Krill (Sam Carmichael), Pearce Bunting (Bill Austin), Ben Livingston (Harry Bright), Ben Gettinger (Pepper), Samantha Eggers (Lisa), Amina Robinson (Ali), and Raymond J. Lee (Eddie).

The ensemble comprises Brent Black, Timothy Booth, Allyson Carr, Lanene Charters, Meghan Dreyfuss, Matthew Farver, Tony Gonzalez, Lori Haley Fox, Heidi Godt, Jon-Erik Goldberg, Corey Greenan, Bryan Scott Johnson, Robin Levine, Corinne Melançon, Ian Paget, Gerard Salvador, Ryan Sander, Courtney Reed, Ryan Sander, Collette Simmons, Traci Victoria, and Leah Zepel.
