Grammy nominee Josh Groban (who starred in the Chess concert now available on CD and a DVD) will guest star this fall on the new FOX series Glee, according to a report in the New York Daily News. The singer told the paper, “I play myself but I’m definitely acting. I had to play a real jerk version of myself, so it was a lot of fun. I had to serve one of the teachers a restraining order.”

The series aired its first pilot on May 19, and will begin its first full season on September 16. The show features many Broadway alums, including star Matthew Morrison (South Pacific) as a Spanish teacher who directs a high school choir and Lea Michele (Spring Awakening) as his star pupil.

The show’s supporting cast includes Jane Lynch, Cory Monteith, Jessalyn Gilsig, Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jayma Mays, and Jenna Ushkowitz. As previously reported, Kristin Chenoweth, Debra Monk, Cheyenne Jackson, John Lloyd Young, and Victor Garber are among the actors who are also set to guest star during the first season.
