Irish Rep to Present Conal Creedon’s After Luke and When I Was God

Irish Repertory Theatre will present a double bill of one-act plays by Cónal Creedon, After Luke and When I Was God, July 29-September 20, with an opening on August 6. Tim Ruddy will direct.

Both plays explore the fragile world of father/son relationships in contemporary Ireland. After Luke, set in the heyday of Ireland’s recent boom, explores the greed-driven frenzy of the property market when one son returns from abroad and manipulates the sale of the home place. When I Was God is a drama of a father’s heartbreaking expectations for his son in sports.

The cast will include Gary Gregg, Colin Lane, and Michael Mellamphy. The design team will feature Lex Liang (set), David Toser (costumes), Brian Nason (lighting), and Shannon Slaton (sound).

The two plays are part of Creedon’s Second City Trilogy, which also includes The Cure. His other plays include The Trial Of Jesus and Glory Be To The Father.
