Dustin Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Minnie Driver, et al. to Star in Barney’s Version Film

Minnie Driver, Bruce Greenwood, Scott Speemdan, and Macha Grenon will join previously announced stars Dustin Hoffman and Paul Giamatti in the new film Barney’s Version, based on Mordecai Richler’s final novel, according to Variety. Richard J. Lewis will direct the film, which has a screenplay adaptation by Michael Konyves.

Hoffman’s stage credits include The Merchant of Venice, Death of a Salesman, All Over Town, and Jimmy Shine. Hoffman is a seven-time Oscar nominee, winning the award for Kramer vs. Kramer and Rain Man, and won the Emmy Award for the television version of Death of a Salesman.

Giamatti’s Broadway credits include The Iceman Cometh, Racing Demon, Arcadia, and The Three Sisters. He received an Oscar nomination for his role in Cinderella Man, won numerous awards for the film Sideways, and will soon be soon on the big screen in Lost Souls. He won the Emmy, among numerous other honors, for playing the title role in HBO’s miniseries John Adams.
