Dan Goggin’s Nunsense Receives 25th Anniversary Songbook


Alfred Publishing Co. has released Nunsense: The 25th Nunniversary Songbook
, a music folio featuring 23 songs from author/composer Dan Goggin’s series of Nunsense musicals. The book is available online, and through specialty retailers worldwide.

Goggin’s musical franchise includes Nunsense, Nunsense 2: The Second Coming, Sister Amnesia’s Country Western Nunsense Jambore, Nuncrackers: The Nunsense Christmas Musical, Meshuggah Nuns, Nunsensations: The Nunsense Vegas Revue and Nunsense A-Men. The shows follow a fictitious order of merry nuns, the “Little Sisters of Hoboken.”

The original musical premiered in New York City at the Cherry Lane Theater in 1986, where it won four Outer Critics’ Circle Awards, including “Best Off-Broadway Musical.” It transferred to the Douglas Fairbanks Theater on 42nd Street, where it ran for over 10 years, and has been presented all over the world in over 8,000 productions, grossing more than $500,000,000.
