The concert will bring together stars and performances from current and upcoming Broadway productions to officially kick off the beginning of the 2008-2009 Broadway season. A specific list of performers will be announced at a later date.

For the event, Times Square will be "shut down" to make room for the anticipated 50,000-plus attendees. In addition to individual performances, the event features a grand finale replete with a rain of confetti.
