Patrick Stewart’s Macbeth to Transfer to West End

The Chichester Festival’s sold-out production of Macbeth, starring Patrick Stewart in the title role, will transfer to the West End’s Gielgud Theatre, September 24-December 1.

The production, which concludes its Chichester run on September 1, is directed by Rupert Golod, with design by Anthony Ward, lighting by Howard Harrison, sound by Adam Cork, and video and movement by Lorna Heavey. Kate Fleetwood will once again play Lady Macbeth; additional casting has yet to be announced.

Following Macbeth, the Gielgud will house the Chichester production of The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, December 5-January 27. The two-part production plays at Chichester from September 10 to September 22, before embarking on a national tour. It is directed by Jonathan Church and Philip Franks, with design by Simon Higlett and lighting by Mark Jonathan. Daniel Weyman plays the title role.
