LoveMusik CD Will Be Released on November 27

LoveMusik, the Broadway musical about the lives of composer Kurt Weill and his wife, actress Lotte Lenya, will be released by Ghostlight Records on Tuesday, November 27. The recording is produced by Joel Moss, with Kurt Deutsch as executive producer.

The show, which was directed by Harold Prince, featured the music of Weill and various lyricists and a book by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Alfred Uhry. It ran for 60 regular performances and 24 previews at Manhattan Theatre Club’s Biltmore Theater. The show was nominated for four Tony Awards.

LoveMusik starred Michael Cerveris as Weill and Donna Murphy as Lenya; she won both Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance. The supporting cast featured David Pittu as Bertolt Brecht, John Scherer as George Davis, and an ensemble featuring Judith Blazer, Ann Morrison, Herndon Lackey, Erik Liberman, Graham Rowat, and Rachel Ulanet.
