The new Broadway production of the musical Lone Star Love, which was scheduled to begin previews at the Belasco Theatre on November 1, has cancelled its engagement. No reason was given.

The show, directed by Randy Skinner, will continue its run at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre, where it plays through September 30.

The show, which was previously presented by AMAS at the Jon Houseman Theatre, re-sets Shakespeare’s Merry Wives of Windsor to Texas during the Civil War era.
It is conceived by John L. Haber, with a book by Haber and Robert Horn, and a score by Jack Herrick of the Red Clay Ramblers, who also appears on stage. The cast is headed by Randy Quaid, Robert Cuccioli, Dee Hoty, and Lauren Kennedy.

John Rando is creative supervisor for the production. The creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Ken Billington and Paul Miller (lighting), and Tom Morse (sound).
