Cherry Jones to Join Fox’s 24

Tony Award winner Cherry Jones will join the hit FOX series 24 next season as the President of the United States, according to TVGuide.com.

24, which begins its seventh season this fall, consists of one-hour epiosdes that take place in real time. The series stars Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, a Federal agent whose job includes preventing the President from being asssasinated.

Jones won the Tony for Best Actress in a Play for Doubt and The Heiress. Her many other New York stage credits include Faith Healer, A Moon for the Misbegotten, Flesh and Blood, Pride’s Crossing, and Our Country’s Good.
