Legendary star Carol Burnett has had to cancel her upcoming appearance in the world premiere of Charles Grodin’s comedy What’s Been Bothering You Lately?, with “an unexpected family situation” given as the reason. The show, which will be directed by Chris Smith, is scheduled to run at L.A.’s Falcon Theatre, October 17-November 18. No replacement has yet been named.

The Falcon’s 2007-2008 season will open with Arnold Margolin’s farce Leap, about a man trying to jump out a window, to run September 5-October 7. Also on the Falcon’s schedule is the latest offering from the Troubadour Theatre Company, A Charlie James Brown Christmas (November 28-January 13), which parodies the 1965 animated television classic using the music of James Brown, and The Memoirs of Abraham Lincoln (January 30-March 2), a solo show about the lighter side of the former president starring Granville van Dusen.
