Banes Replaces Atkinson in BTF’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession

Lisa Banes will replace the previously announced Jayne Atkinson in the title role of the Berkshire Theatre Festival’s production of George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession, August 14-September 1. The production, to be directed by Anders Cato, will open officially on August 17.

She joins previously announced stars Xanthe Elbrick as Vivie Warren, Randy Harrison as Frank Gardner, Walter Hudson as Sir George Crofts, Mark Nelson as Praed, and Stephen Temperley as Samuel Gardner. The show’s creative team includes Carl Sprague (scenery), Olivera Gajic (costumes), Dan Kotlowitz (lighting), and Scott Killian (composition and sound).

Banes has appeared on Broadway in Rumors, Arcadia, and High Society. Her many film and television credits include Cocktail, Six Feet Under, and Desperate Housewives.
