Adams, Bell, Watkins, et al. Set for York’s The Day Before Spring

Casting has been announced for the York Theatre’s Musicals in Mufti presentation of The Day Before Spring, co-written by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, to run July 27-29.

The musical, which will be directed by David Glenn Armstrong, is about a married woman who considers running off with her old flame after they meet again at a college reunion. The show opened on Broadway at the National Theatre (now the Nederlander Theatre) in 1945 where it ran for 167 performances. It was directed by Edward Padula, choreographed by Anthony Tudor, and had a cast that included Lucille Benson, John Archer, Bert Freed, and Irene Manning.

The York cast will feature Amanda Watkins, Richard Todd Adams, Orville Mendoza, Ed Watts, Hunter Bell, Tia Speros, David Abeles, Summer Broyhill, Janine Davita, Ashlee Fife, Robyn Kramer, Daniel C. Levine, Lindsay Packard, and Mark York. The show’s musical director will be Aaron Gandy.
