Angela Christian, who played the title role in the Broadway musical The Woman in White, will take on the role of poet Anais Nin in Anais Nin – One of Her Lives, August 3-26 at the Beckett Theater. The show, which is written and directed by Wendy Beckett, will co-star David Bishins, Alysia Reiner, and Rocco Sisto. It will open officially on August 5.

Set in Paris in the 1930s, the play follows the development of Nin, who has become just as famous for her writing as her romantic triangle with the writer Henry Miller and his wife June.

In addition to starring in The Woman in White, Christian originated the role of Miss Dorothy in the Broadway musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. Bishins, who will play Henry Miller, has been seen Off-Broadway in A Mother, A Daughter, and A Gun and The Boys in the Band. Reiner, who will play June Miller, appeared in the award-winning film Sideways and has guest starred on The Sopranos and Law & Order. Sisto, who will play Dr. Rink and Nin’s father, was most recently seen Off-Broadway in In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer and received numerous awards for playing the Marquis de Sade in the Off-Broadway production of Quills.
