London Shows to Resume Performances Tonight Following Yesterday’s Bombings

Almost all shows in London’s West End will resume a normal performance schedule tonight and will play over the weekend, according to a spokesperson for the Society of London Theaters.

The city’s theaters were shut down yesterday in the wake of terrorist attacks on three subways and one double-decker bus. The bombings killed more than 50 people and injured more than 700. British officials say that the death toll could rise but would probably remain under 100.

Among the shows that canceled performances last night were Billy Elliot, Mary Poppins, and Guys & Dolls starring Ewan McGregor and Jane Krawoski. Many theaters will observe a minute of silence this evening in honor of the victims of the bombings.
