Judith Light and Lily Rabe will star in the Manhattan Class Company’s production of English playwright Laura Wade’s Colder Than Here. The show, to be directed by Abigail Morris, will run September 7-October 15 at the Lucille Lortel Theater.

In the American premiere of this critically acclaimed work, Light will play Myra, a perfect homemaker who turns her attention to organizing her impending funeral. Rabe will play her daughter. Additional casting is to be announced later this summer.

Light’s New York stage credits include Wit, Sorrows and Rejoicings, and Measure for Measure. She is best known for her roles as Angela Bower in the hit TV sitcom Who’s The Boss, and Karen Wolek on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live, for which she earned two Daytime Emmy Awards as Best Actress.

Rabe is currently onstage as Annelle in the soon-to-close revival of Steel Magnolias. Her mother, actress Jill Clayburgh, will return to Broadway this season in A Naked Girl on the Appian Way and Barefoot in the Park. Her father is David Rabe, the playwright, whose works include Hurlyburly and Streamers.

The MCC 2005-2006 season will continue with productions of Glen Berger’s new play The Wooden Breeks directed by Tony Award winner Garry Hynes, and the world premiere of Neil LaBute’s Swallowing Bicycles, directed by Jo Bonney.
