Alison Fraser has replaced Patricia Kalember in the Primary Stages production of Terrence McNally’s Dedication, or the Stuff of Dreams, which is set to begin a seven-week run on July 26. No reason was given for the recasting.

The play concerns a couple who run a children’s theater and must decide whether or not to purchase a larger theater. The production will also star Nathan Lane, Marian Seldes, Miriam Shor, R.E. Rodgers, and Michael Countryman under the direction of Michael Morris. Last month, Lane replaced his future Odd Couple co-star Peter Frechette, who left the production due to a scheduling conflict.

Fraser is a two-time Tony Award nominee for her roles in Romance/Romance and The Secret Garden. Her other credits include Falsettos, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Green Heart, and Tartuffe. Dedication will open officially on August 18 and is scheduled to run through September 18.
