Casting Complete for Vineyard’s Miracle Brothers

Jay Goede, William Youmans, Nicole Leach, and Gregory Treco will complete the cast of Kirsten Childs’ new musical Miracle Brothers, set to begin performances at the Vineyard Theater on August 25. Tina Landau will direct and Mark Dendy will choreograph the production, which is scheduled to open on September 18.

As previously reported, Tyler Maynard, who created the role of Mark in Altar Boyz, and Clifton Oliiver, an ensemble member of Wicked, will play the title roles. The cast of the musical also includes Kerry Butler, Cheryl Freeman, Karen Olivo, Anika Larsen, Devin Richards, and Darrell Moultrie.

Goede has appeared on Broadway in A Year with Frog and Toad, Angels in America, and Sex and Longing. Youmans was most recently seen in Wicked as Dr. Dillamond. Leach recently played the title role in Nefertiti at Florida’s Parker Playhouse. Treco was an ensemble member of Taboo.

Miracle Brothers is the story of two young brothers in 17th-century Brazil — one black and one white, one a slave and the other free — who are determined to find a new way to live. The show will have scenic design by G.W. Mercier, costumes by Anita Yavich, lighting by Scott Zielinksi, sound design by Brett Jarvis, projection design by Jan Hartley, orchestrations by Daryl Waters, and musical direction by Fred Carl.
