Stephen Bienskie, Deidre Goodwin, Jenn Harris, Lisa Howard, and Paul Kandel will have major roles in SILENCE! The Musical, a spoof of the Oscar-winning film The Silence of the Lambs. The show will be presented August 12-28 at the Lucille Lortel Theater as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.

Written by brothers Jon and Al Kaplan, SILENCE! will be directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, who won a 2005 Lucille Lortel Award for his work on Altar Boyz. The production will also feature set design by Scott Pask (winner of this year’s Tony Award for Best Set Design of a Play for The Pillowman), costume design by David Kaley, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by Simon Matthews.

Bienskie, who will play the murderous Buffalo Bill, did a stint as Rum Tum Tugger in the Broadway production of Cats and was also featured prominently in the Off-Broadway musical The Last Session. Goodwin, who will play Ardelia Mapp, has appeared on Broadway in The Boys From Syracuse, Chicago, and Never Gonna Dance. Harris, who will play FBI agent Clarice Starling, won a 2005 Lucille Lortel Award for her performance in Modern Orthdox. Howard, who will play abductee Catherine Martin, is currently starring as Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. And Kandel, who will play killer Hannibal Lecter, received a Tony nomination for his work as Uncle Ernie in The Who’s Tommy.

Also featured in the cast of SILENCE! The Musical will be Howard Kaye, Harry Bouvy, and Jeff Hiller. For more information, visit the website www.silencethemusical.com.
