Broadway Songwriters to Perform in Kerry/Edwards Fundraiser

Comedian Judy Gold will host In With The New, a fundraiser for Democratic presidential and vice presidential candidates John Kerry and John Edwards, at Canal Room (285 West Broadway at Canal Street) on Monday, August 2 at 8pm.


The event will feature Broadway composers and lyricists and other up-and-coming writers performing original songs. Among those scheduled to participate are Avenue Q‘s Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx; Junie B. Jones‘s Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich; and Bat Boy: The Musical‘s Laurence O’Keefe, along with Amanda Green, Tom Kitt, Adam Overett, Joy Son, Jill Abramovitz, Brad Alexander, Nell Benjamin, Helen Chayefsky, and Andrea Schulman Gellert. The benefit is being produced by Brad Alexander.
