Ripley, Cerveris, et al. to Perform in Sh-K-Boom Concert Series at the Zipper Theater

From July 16 through 28, Sh-K-Boom Records and the Zipper Theater will present the first ever Sh-K-Boom Room Summer Concert Series, featuring some of New York’s brightest theater talents performing their own music.

Participants in the series will include performers ranging from Alice Ripley (The Rocky Horror Show, Side Show) to Michael Cerveris (Titanic, Tommy), along with such composers as David Yazbek (The Full Monty) and Paul Scott Goodman (Bright Lights, Big City). The two-week event — sponsored by Masque Sound, Fourth Phase, Show People, and TheaterMania — will take place at the Zipper Theater, located at 336 West 37th Street (between Eighth and Ninth avenues).

Sh-K-Boom has produced and released solo albums by musical theater stars Adam Pascal and Sherie René Scott; in addition, the company often hosts concerts that allow such artists to showcase their songwriting skills and to branch out into rock, pop, and other musical genres. Sh-K-Boom has more recently begun to issue original cast recordings, starting with Jason Robert Brown’s The Last 5 Years and proceeding with Michel Legrand’s Amour.
