Maya Days to Star in Reading of Masada Musical

The York Theatre Company has announced that Maya Days (No Strings at Encores!, Aida and Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway) will headline a reading of the new musical drama Masada on Monday, July 21.

Masada, based on Ernest K. Gann’s The Antagonists, is set in the Judean desert in 73 A.D. and tells the story of a woman who follows two men — General Flavius Silva, leader of Rome’s Tenth Legion, and Eleazar, the leader of the Jewish rebels — as they search for something to believe in. Masada has music by Benjamin Rosenbluth, book and lyrics by Michael Aman and Oscar E. Moore. Scott C. Embler will direct the reading and Fran Minarik will serve as musical director.

Also featured in the cast are Jeff Applegate, Trent Blanton, Greg Bossler, Harrison Chad, Billy Eichner, David Havasi, Keith Howard, Alicia Irving, Heidi Landis, Robert Ian Mackenzie, Adam Mastrelli, Lauren Reuben, Brian Charles Rooney, Ronald Rusinek, Michael Scott, Jon Stewart, Rod Thomas, and Rebecca Simon.

The reading will be held in the Theatre at Saint Peter’s at Citigroup Center (619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street) at 7:30pm on July 21. Admission is free. For additional information, call 212-935-5824, ext. 24.
