"Auction of 1000 Stars" Benefits The Actors’ Fund

The Actors’ Fund of America has announced “Auction of 1000 Stars 2003,” which gives theater fans and celebrity mavens the opportunity to bid on memorabilia, special events, and more. Now through July 28, the auction may be accessed via www.auctionof1000stars.org.

Among the theater-related items up for auction are VIP tickets to the opening night performances and parties of The Boy From Oz and Little Shop of Horrors; VIP tickets and backstage visits at Gypsy, Thoroughly Modern Millie (including a private tap dance lesson), Movin’ Out, Beauty and the Beast, and Nine; walk-on parts in The Phantom of the Opera and Rent; and a private Shakespearean acting class and tea with Lynn Redgrave.

Also up for grabs is a wide selection of Broadway Playbills, photographs, and books autographed by such stars as Pearl Bailey, Lillian Gish, Colleen Dewhurst, Jason Robards, Alec Baldwin, Kathy Bates, Nathan Lane, and Signourney Weaver.
