New York’s Rattlestick Theatre has announced that four brand new plays will make up its eighth season, which will begin on September 4 with the world premiere of Faster by the young and prolific Adam Rapp (Nocturne). The other three world premieres scheduled are Ben Bettenbender’s Bliss, Joe Hortua’s Burning, and a yet-to-be-named play by Twilight of the Golds author Jonathan Tolins.

Faster, directed by Daryl Larsen, will star Rob Bietzel, Mtume Gant (Oz), and Chris Messina (This Thing of Darkness). Bliss, which will play from October 30 through December 1, is to be directed by Julia Gibson and will star Ron C. Jones (Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train). Tom Caruso will direct the Tolins play, set to run January 6-March 2. Burning will close out Rattlestick’s 2002-2003 season with performances March 26-May 4.

The Rattlestick Theatre is located at 224 Waverly Place off of 7th Avenue, between Perry and West 11th streets. Phone 212-627-2556 for tickets and information, or visit the website www.rattlestick.org.
