Attention, Dancing Queens: Mamma Mia! is Auditioning in Florida

Mamma Mia! You, too, can be in ABBA’s hit musical: Open-call auditions for male and female dancer/singers will take place July 28-July 30 in Tampa and Orlando. Energetic, twentysomething performers of every race, size, and ethnicity are sought to join the Broadway and touring companies of Mamma Mia!

The producers are looking for contemporary dancers and singers–rather than “traditional” Broadway types–who have good moves (acrobatics are a plus for the men) and a rock sound. Some of the ensemble roles will include featured acting and singing. Auditionees should be warmed up and ready to dance upon arrival; flat dance shoes or dance sneakers and street clothes should be worn. Prepare a short monologue from a modern American play and a contemporary pop song (an accompanist will be provided).
Bring along a picture, résumé, and sheet music.

The Tampa auditions are scheduled for Sunday, July 28 at 9pm at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center; the Orlando auditions will be on Monday, July 29 at 8pm and Tuesday, July 30 at 10am at Spotlight Dance Center.
