Rare George Kelly Revival Coming to Mint Theater

The romantic comedy was last seen on Broadway in 1946.

The Mint Theater will mount a production of George Kelly's rarely seen romantic comedy The Fatal Weakness later this summer.

The Mint Theater has announced that its next production will be a rare revival of George Kelly's The Fatal Weakness in a limited engagement running from August 19-October 12. The official opening night is set for Monday, September 15.

The Fatal Weakness follows Ollie Espenshade, whose fatal weakness through 28 years of marriage has been her incurable romantic ideals. Produced on Broadway in 1946, the play offers a comic take on romance, marriage, and commitment. The Mint presents this play on the heels of its fall 2013 production if Kelly's Philip Goes Forth.

Jesse Marchese will direct a cast featuring Cliff Bemis, Cynthia Darlow, Kristin Griffith, Sean Patrick Hopkins, Patricia Kilgarriff, and Victoria Mack. The creative team will include scenic design by Vicki R. Davis, costume design by Andrea Varga, lighting design by Christian DeAngelis, original music and sound design by Jane Shaw, and properties design by Joshua Yocom.
