Arlington, Virginia's Signature Theatre will end its 2013-14 season with the world premiere of the musical Cloak and Dagger, directed by Signature Theatre Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. The production began performances on June 12 and will run through July 6 in Signature's MAX Theatre.

In this comic send-up of 1950s film noir, third-rate detective Nick Cutter (Doug Carpenter) is down on his luck until a beautiful blonde bombshell (Erin Driscoll) tosses a very intriguing case into his lap. In the fast-moving production, four actors play nearly 20 roles. Also in the cast are the musical's author, Ed Dixon, and Christopher Bloch.

The production features orchestrations by Jordan Ross Weinhold, musical direction by Jenny Cartney, scenic design by Daniel Conway, costume design by Kathleen Geldard, lighting design by Colin K. Bills, and sound design by Lane Elms.

Fat Tony (Ed Dixon), Nick Cutter (Doug Carpenter), and Gino (Christopher Bloch) sing "Who Put the Mob In" in Cloak and Dagger, playing at Signature Theatre through July 6.
